Shaun Dolan

Biography

At an early age, Shaun had an unmistakable affinity for radio. His favorite toy was a Wild Planet Real Radio DJ Studio, a tiny plastic console with a tape deck and a part 15 AM transmitter inside; he won tickets to his first “concert” from Radio Disney; and enjoyed streaming an internet radio station to an average of one listener over a 128k ISDN connection in the late 90s. A decade or so later, he studied Mediated Communication Technology and Informatics at the University of Illinois while co-hosting the morning show on college station WPGU, serving as the student Chief Engineer, and eventually contracting for a dozen AM and FM stations in Central Illinois. This propelled him into an integration firm where he spent several years traveling the country managing broadcast facility buildouts, solving complex technical problems, and expertly avoiding wasps at transmitter sites.

Shaun later joined Telos Alliance, a broadcast software vendor, where he quickly became known to the industry as a preeminent broadcast telephony expert. He served as the Product Manager for VoIP products, including the world’s most popular talkshow system, where he leveraged his telephony knowledge and broadcast field experience to help create a new cloud-based talkshow system.
